Volunteer of the Week      1/29 through 2/4/12

She attends weekly worship services. She helps out each week with the Bread of Life Food Pantry Outreach Ministry. A few days a week she volunteers to sort, and fill the bags of food for each Wednesday. She is also actively involved in the worship choir. A big word of thanks goes to our volunteer of the week:

men's iconTHE UNITED METHODIST MEN HOST THEIR ANNUAL SWEETHEART DINNER AND PROGRAM ON FEBRUARY 14TH.

The ladies are guests of the U.M. Men. Gentlemen are asked to pay the $7 cost for the dinner. A special musical program is planned. Please sign up in the back of the Sanctuary. Deadline for reservations is February 8th. REMEMBER THE COLOR IS RED!

 

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR ASSEMBLING FOOD PANTRY BAGS.
The Clothes Closet Outreach Ministry would like to thank We need help on Tuesdays from 10-11:30 am and on Wednesdays from 11am-12:30 pm. Please sign up in the back of the Sanctuary with your phone number. You will be called to schedule a time.

A VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY will open in the Church Office soon!

With the updating of the phone service for the office area we are looking for some volunteers to assist in taking calls and messages, especially on Wednesdays. For more information, please call the church office at 252-3655.

More than 20 years ago, Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer:

“Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those without even a bowl of soup to eat.”

On Sunday, February 5th we invite you to be a part of the movement to raise money for our own Bread of Life Food Pantry which provides relief and assistance to the hungry and the needy in our community. We will have a Soup and Salad Luncheon (with homemade bread and dessert) in Fellowship Hall immediately following worship. A donation of $3 will be accepted but not required. Please make plans to join with others to give and serve!

 

A NEW PICTORIAL DIRECTORY IS IN THE WORKS! Pictures will be taken Thursday – March 1st from 2 - 9:30 pm; Friday – March 2nd from 11:30 am - 7:30 pm; and Saturday – March 3rd from 9 am – 5 pm. (Please see the insert in today’s bulletin.) Sign-up after church in Fellowship Hall. For more information contact Lois Hiles, Grace Krouse or Shirley Davis.

REMEMBER THE UPCOMING ANNUAL RUMMAGE SALE!
We are once again working on our annual rummage sale set for March 30th & 31st. We need many volunteers to help by donating and then sorting and pricing items. We will hold a work day every Tuesday afternoon from 1-3 pm. Please bring only CLEAN ITEMS in good repair and clearly marked “Rummage Sale”. The deadline for items is February 28th. Please consider volunteering!
